On Thursday, New York police released surveillance images of an individual wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The two images reveal much of the face of the person sought in connection with the NYPD's investigation into Wednesday’s killing in Midtown Manhattan.

Thompson, 50, was fatally shot by a masked assailant early Wednesday morning while approaching the Hilton Hotel for an investor meeting of UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare.

UnitedHealthcare is the largest private health insurance provider in the United States.

“The New York City Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the newly released media, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the homicide detailed below,” the NYPD’s media affairs office stated.

The department did not disclose the source of the newly released photos.

On Wednesday, police shared video footage and still images capturing the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson. The footage depicted a masked gunman firing at the CEO before fleeing the scene on a bicycle, which he rode into nearby Central Park.

Additionally, the NYPD released surveillance images from a nearby Starbucks showing the suspect, who was masked at the time.

A $10,000 reward has been offered by the NYPD and Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for Thompson’s murder.
